A Journey from Club to Pro Car Racing
Standing start at a Fran-Am race.
Crew at work in the pits.
In between sessions, the crew is hard at work getting the cars ready for the next session. Time management is very important in semi-pro racing. There never seems to be enough time to get ready for the next session, but dedicated crews always make their deadlines.
Crashed cars come back on a "hook".
Things don't always go according to plan. One of our cars was involved in a crash and brought back to the pits by the tow truck. When this happens, the crew has a great deal of extra work to perform getting ready for the next session. However, they still remain calm and rise to the challenge.
Coaching is common among racers.
Here I'm getting some much needed coaching before a session on track. We found that having a professional race coach was invaluable while learning how to race at the semi-pro and professional levels.
Relaxing between track sessions.
Race tracks are quite large and many crews have modified golf carts in order to get around the facilities. Here we are commuting in style with some family members at the home-town race track.
